A series of growls emitted from the hound's vocals. Thin legs dug there way into the dumpster, looking for the best of the bunch. The dog came up and sat on the closed part of the dumpster, devouring his food. When he finished, he licked his rubbage caked maw and looked around to see if anyone had come by.
With a satisfactory nod, he jumped back into the dumpster to resume his dinner. The sun had set already, and it was practically pitch black, making this the best time for him to get some grub. After a few more minutes he came up again, this time jumping out and off the dumpster. He sighed and stretched, giving a big yawn. "How fulfilling." he mumbled, then looked around for something to amuse him. Perhaps, he'd find one of those little humans. No, they wouldn't be out. They would be safe and warm, tucked in their beds, along with the house pets. "House pets, bunch of prissy pups." he scowled, muttering in disdain. Yeah, his mother had been one once, but she was put back on the streets where she was born and raised. He'd been a street dog for all his life and he would be until the day he died. Once a street dog, always a street dog.

Hush little baby, close your eyes. Sleep through the night, I promise it's alright. I don't know where I'll go only time will show. Hush little baby, close your eyes.
----- Fireflies lit up the otherwise bleak night sky, dusk having settled in whilest the other was obtaining his dinner, with so many lapdogs all snuggly and safe. Except one was far from safe. She was roaming the streets instead of inside where she obviously belonged. At least, this was known only to her. To others, she looked as scruffy as the next rogue. Petite collie's sleek, extraordinarily kempt coat was a surray of dazzling colors melting together to create a pelt of brilliancy that not even the finest painter could ever begin to mimick. After sitting outfront of the burger bar, tossing mournful looks towards the way of the humans, she'd finally obtained a hamburger from a passing child though she'd had to snatch it and flee before he tried to pat her.
The carress of a human's hand had never been welcomed with her, for she had always felt a foul touch, never one of kindness and humanity. As she made her way behind the burger bar, she spotted the hound with a look of arrogant aggression though she shielded her food with her paws as she dropped it and attempted to tear into it. However, her dining was cut adruptly short as a massive mongrel passed and sneered down at her, demanding she toss over her lunch. At first, she refused and then before she could realize her mistake, the much larger dog jumped her.
Several long minutes later, the scuffle left her battered and her spirit bruised and her pride lost, as well as her dinner as the victorious dog snickered and trotted off into the shadows with her prize in his foul jaws. Shuffling her paws, muzzle dipped low as she rose on her fluffy haunches and silently peered towards the male.
"I'm Firefly." Sultry, husky voice purred out in a welcoming manner, hoping he wouldn't turn aggressive. Tongue darted out to run over charcoal lips, savoring the tang of the remaining sauces that she'd tasted only for fleeting moments. Firefly had to wonder, what was she doing out here? This was no place for her. She was a mere house dog, trying to pass for a street rogue. And more or less getting no where fast with this. -----
Just for tonight, I can promise it's alright. Hush little darling, and close your eyes. For tonight, I can promise.. Everything's alright.

Gahiji stayed quiet and watched with interested eyes. His eyes danced with amusement as the scuffle went on, but vanished when he saw that outcome. A throaty growl left his maw as he watched the brute walk away with her dinner. What kind of dog was he? Stealing from a lady. Sure, he was hungry often but no matter how hungry he wouldn't go so low as to steal from a fem. The growl died down as the female approached him and he gave her a fangy grin.
"'Allo Firefly." he said, giving her a bow and turning on his classic charm. "I be Gahiji." he replied and thingyed his head. He motioned to her leg and gave her a sincerely concerned look, "You'll be alright?" he asked, and then went on with the questioning. "What are you doing out so late?" No, he hadn't realized she was a house pet, it was just a question he asked when he came upon others at night. "You need food?"
Some became quickly annoyed with his persistent questions, but it really wasn't all his fault. It was his nature. He was bred to find things out, well, it applied to catching prey, but oh well. The bombardment ended and he was silent, waiting for her replies.

Ran across a picture you took of me And you crossed my mind. I still hear you sayin you love me When i close my eyes. If i didnt go away for school Then where would we be? Probaly still together and somewhere happy. If im supposed to be moved on to new relationships Darlin why are you still hauntin me?
----- "Pleased to meet you, Sir Gahiji. And I am going to be just fine. But no, I'm not hungry. I'll do fine. And.. I have nowhere else to go. How about you? Haven't you got a pack or a ladyfriend to keep yourself in the company of? Surely, you do." Pleasantries were graciously swept in by fluffy, perked ears as the collie dog advanced cautiously. Now just a foot or less away from him, prosterior lowered to kempt haunches as she flashed a dazzling smile his way. Charm was something this little sly trickster advanced at. Afterall, when you were her size you had to have SOMETHING to your advantage, now didn't you? If not, you were just crowfood.
Paws shuffled as gaze slowly drifted down. Now, now, she wouldn't allow herself to go crushing on him. There was too much risk in relationships like that. Or so Firefly had heard, afterall, she herself had only had one crush in her two years of breathing. And he had been a big great dane, hilariously enough. And he had merely used her. Even the memory burned a harsh metallic taste in her throat. Firefly allowed her eyes to drift up and she smiled charmingly, waiting his own reactions. -----
They say If you love somethin let it go And if it comes back then thats how you know I got to the stop light then i made 4 rights Now im back where i started And youre back in my life.
The further i go the closer i get back to you I say i moved on till im reminded of you Can somebody help me Help me get out of this circle Get out of this circle?

Quit crying your eyes out Quit crying your eyes out, and baby, come on Isn't there something familiar about me? The past is only the future with the lights on Quit crying your eyes out, baby.
"Sir? No need for formalities, my dear. This is the street, were all family. Well, most of us anyways." he chuckled with a lopsided grin. "A lady friend, eh? No, all the girls feel the need to be with strong brutes, "who can protect them." Is wit not enough?" he said in a mocking tone. The dog laughed again and then looked her over, wondering if she'd been on the streets for awhile. I mean, the politeness and all. Not many acted that way out here. "I don't have a pack either, I just go with the flow and follow my own path. How about you, no pack or a man?" he thingyed his head again in a questioning manner.
His eyes danced again as he realized he was being charmed. Not many could pull off a feat like that. It took many attempts to get flattery and charm correct without sounding insincere. This femme had it down, and well, he was very impressed. "Ya been out here long?" he finished his second questionnaire.
So please take me far away Before I'm melt into the ground And all my words get used against me You sad and lonely girl
((Hope you don't mind I borrow your lyric idea. x]))

I've tried so hard, I can't seem to get away from misery Man i've tried so hard but will always be a victim of these streets It ain't my fault cuz I try to get away but trouble follows me And still I try so hard hoping one day you will come and rescue me But until then I'll be posted up right here rain sleet hail snow But until then I'll be posted up right here with my heat gettin dough
______________ Now, the Collie was fully interested, whether she liked it or not. "The mind has its own style of beauty, and as for family, I ave up hope on that a long time ago." Sultry voice cooed in response to his first comments before he would speak again. 'Prissy' darling almost lost her cool with the last question but swiftly, the fleeting former showdog recovered with ease. Lips lifted to form a half smile, quirky it almost seemed.
"We're two peas in a pod, it seems. Packs seem like wastes of time in my opinion. Why bother be in a pack where they just tell you what to do and restrict you when you could get the same treatment in a home with the two-leggeds?" She paused, thinking how she could respond to the 'Prince Charming' without sounding foolish. "As for a fellow, none have ever quite taken a particular interest in me. Seems the men prefer ladies with more leg length than I'll ever have, rather than choosing the latter with less leg but more grace and poise."
Now, at this, Firefly had to release a soft chortle of laughter at her comical commentary. But it was true, she was short for the most part, compared to the long-legged dogs that roamed the lands. But in her opinion, most of these lanky dogs lacked grace. In her cynical case, she was more or less being swept off her paws by this near stranger. What was it about him that made her long and yearn to pursue him? Whatever it was, Firefly was intent on figuring it out. "I haven't been out here too long, at least not in this particular place. Came from far away, I suppose you could say. One of those mysterious wanderers." Collie teased with a charming wink colloboratly placed at the end of her sentance to puncuate it. ______________
It's like I'm taking 5 steps forward and 10 steps back Tryin to get ahead of the game but I can't seem to get it on track And i keep runnin away from the ones that say they love me the most How could I create the distance when it's supposed to be close And uhh, I just don't know but I be out here fighting demons And it's like a curse that I can't shake this part of Cleveland And Lord would you help me (help me) And stop this pain I keep inficting on my family (my family) Hustlin' and gamblin' Trickin' and scramblin' And losing sight of what I'm sposed to be handlin It's hard to manage Cuz everydays a challenge And man I'm slippin' Can't lose my balance I'm tryin' not to panic

Trixie was just walking to her dinner. When a lady came out of her house waving her hand in the air and shouting at Trixie to leave. Trixie just stared at her making the lady afraid. Trixie chuckled to herself. The lady picked up a device that when someone used the dog catcher came. The lady started to push in some of the buttons. Trixie, knowing what she was doing, snarled at the lady baring her teeth. Trixie then leaped up at the woman biting at the device. Trixie made one more final leaped and grabbed onto the device in the lady's hand. The lady looked horrified, dropped the device, and ran in the house screaming. Trixie started to laugh so hard. Then she ran to the burger bar, with the device still in her mouth.
Trixie, seeing the other dogs there knew they probably saw the whole thing. Trixie didn't care she like to show off her strength and she liked to show dogs that she was not afraid of some humans. Trixie dropped the device. Trixie saw the male there. He looked smaller than most dogs about the size of her. She smiled at him and the other dog there. They must be mates she thought. She always wanted a mate and whenever she found a male she liked they always had a mate like this one here. She liked him but th he already had a mate. So she thought.
She decided to introduce herself, "Hello. I am Trixie." She flashed a smile at the male. It was a smile she used to charm a male. She shook her head though not wanting to charm a male with a mate. She couldn't really help it though. She smiled at the female too. She couldn't help herself by flashing another charming smile to the male.

Kate was walking slowly down the street when she saw the human and the female dog. The little pup wanted a owner and thought if the woman and the dog got along then she would go to her, but they did not. Kate saw the woman pick up what she know was some sort to thing that you talk to others with, either others or yourself, Kate could not deiced which. The female dog freaked out and attacked the lady. Kate jumped into the shadows and waited to see what would happen. The dog scared the lady inside then took the thingy with her to the burger place.
The scared puppy decided to follow the other female dog. She was very brave and she figured that being with a brave dog would help the weaker, and smaller pup. She trotted form the shadow and stood a little behind and to the right of the brave she-dog. She introduced herself as Trixie. Kate was not sure if she should say something or just wit for Trixie to see her, or one of the other dogs that was there. Kate decided to wait and see what would happen before she said anything. She hoped with all her might that they would be nice to her, after all she was just a little scared puppy who wanted a friend, or even more an owner.

Trixie heard very light footsteps behind her. She thought maybe it was the lady again. Then she could tell that the footsteps were too close together for a 2-legged. It would have to be a 4-legged probably a cat. She spun around and saw a little weak pup. She smiled at her.

Kate jumped back when Trixie looked back at her. She was not ready for the older dog to know she was there. She let a whine slip out as her ears quickly went down. She got low to the ground and whine softly. "Don't hurt me..." She loked up scraed that the older dog, or any of the other dogs there, would hurt her for following Trixie, and maybe listening to what they said.

"Mysterious wanderers, eh?" he asked with a smirk but before he could continue, he noticed the other two come up. "'Lo Trixie, I'm Gahiji. Pleasure." he said with a nod and grinned at her attempts to charm him. Wow, was he becoming a ladies man? He grinned at the thought and shook his head. "Well, what are you up too?" he asked, thingying his head. He glanced at Firefly and gave her a quick wink. ((So... short. -winces-))

"You know, Trixie, being a tramp isn't too flattering to one's thoughts of you." Her voice was dripping the venom of annoyance as Trixie sauntered up acting like a, well, a tramp. Shaking her head, fluffy ears perked as she twisted her neck around to peer around the 'skank' of a dog and look at the pup. Rolling her eyes, the Collie huffed in irritance and her tail beat against her flanks as she flashed a vague smile. "No one's going to hurt you, pup." Firefly then caught Gahiji's wink and flashed him a charming grin, sidling closer to the point their shoulders brushed and cut her eyes to the side to give him a sidelong glance. "Appears you've become quite the romeo, Gahiji."

Kate could not help but think that the male dog, Gahiji, was charming. She found the way he talked and just his body languge very nice. She was relieved when he said nothing to her. She was thinking when Trixie turned her attention to the other dogs that she would run, and get away. Then the colie saw her. it hurt even more that she had heard her say not to hurt her. She thought for a second about what she would do. Should she run and get away, or should she talk to them. After all the colie said they would not hurt her. She took a deep breath and said, "You sure?" She could not help but let a little whine lose. She felt really small and helpless. She looked up at the older dogs and tried to smile, or at least something, but she could not. She quickly turned her head back to the ground so that no one could read her eyes, or see that she could not smile.
